Stunts and Special Effects (S/FX)

UNDER SIEGE II - IN DARK TERRITORY Warner Bros. (1995)

Creating illusions of danger and building dramatic impact with railroad equipment and on railroad locations is particularly challenging. Planning for stunt and special effects sequences begins months before the first frame of film moves through a camera.

Railroad equipment is big, heavy, and always potentially dangerous when stunts/SFX are involved, there is no place for amateurs and guesswork. RTMS brings a unique set of skills to every film project.

John Silvia, retired Warner Bros. Vice President of Feature Operations Safety, has mentored RTMS personnel in “best practices” concerning Stunt and Special Effects scene production and safety procedures. Mr. Silvia remains available to RTMS for of counsel and on-location project advise and on-location assistance.

SAFETY ASSURANCE:

RTMS has the industry's Only ACCIDENT FREE safety record. Legal, risk management/insurance, and safety  managers back at the studio, AND railroad management, always breathe easier when RTMS personnel are working on a project.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT:

Consulting engineers, environmentalists, and special permits frequently are required for historic structures, industrial locations, and protected government lands. RTMS brings to production work decades of project management expertise gained while designing and managing government programs and private sector industrial logistics projects.

TEAMWORK:

To safely execute complex stunt and special effects work, every involved department  -- Camera, Electric, Stunts, S/FX, Railroad, Locations, and many others -- all have unique and critical roles. RTMS personnel will join with the production team and outside contractors to produce the most striking images possible while insuring the safety of all involved.

RAILROAD EXPERTISE:

Collectively, RTMS personnel have more than nine decades of railroad experience, including years of  railroad equipment and facilities engineering, construction, and maintenance experience. We know intimately the applicable safety laws and regulations and can help the production avoid per se and actual negligence situations.
